Resumo: The diagnosis of HIV seropositivity is received with impact, and when the infection is contracted from a stable partner, it brings into play a lot more than the assumed loyalty, shaking the confi dence and the expectations placed on this partner. In addition, women are biologically more vulnerable to such infection. The objective was to investigate the perceptions of women who report having been infected by a partner in a stable relationship at the time of disclosure of the diagnosis and after a while after receiving the news. A cross-sectional study of an exploratory qualitative was carried out including 11 women living with HIV who were infected by partners and go to the Infectious Diseases Clinic STD/AIDS of Caxias do Sul. They were interviewed using a semi-structured questionnaire, with recording and transcription. The results point to the story of despair at diagnosis, as this news was unexpected and to the difficulties to reveal the diagnosis to family members, ending up facing the disease alone.Key words: women, HIV/AIDS, diagnose.

O estudo é transversal qualitativo do tipo exploratório. Unisinos2013-08-06info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/contextosclinicos/article/view/ctc.2013.62.0910.4013/ctc.2013.62.09Contextos Clínicos; v. 6 n. 2 (2013): Jul-Dez; 164-1731983-3482reponame:Contextos Clínicosinstname:Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)instacron:Unisinosporhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/contextosclinicos/article/view/ctc.2013.62.09/3643Wagner, Tânia Maria CeminBosi, Denise Rasiainfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2015-05-08T11:46:22Zoai:ojs2.revistas.unisinos.br:article/3061Revistahttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/contextosclinicosPUBhttps://revistas.unisinos.br/index.php/contextosclinicos/oaidfalcke@unisinos.br||periodicos@unisinos.br1983-34821983-3482opendoar:2015-05-08T11:46:22Contextos Clínicos - Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (UNISINOS)false
