Resumo: In this article, we propose to identify ruptures and discontinuities in the format of the Brazilian telenovela, considering those productions that presented novelties in terms of narrative, television language and the theme addressed. For this, we made an empirical cut of some telenovelas of rupture in the national teledramaturgy from the seventies to the present day, such as Saramandaia (1976), Pantanal (1990) and Cordel Encantado (2011), among others, and we mapped the marks of innovation of the poetic project that guided their production, based on an analysis of the rupture mechanisms they introduced.
