Resumo: Understanding that the media discourse has a socially privileged voice and exerts a large influence on its readers´ formation, establishing itself as legitimate information discourse, it is intended, in this dissertation, to analyze how the textual materiality of story headlines and subtitles of articles of Veja magazine reveals the subjectivity, the ideologies and the argumentativity present in its speech, through an efficient linguistic manipulation. By observing the linguistic arrangements used in these texts and the discourse produced by them in dialogue with other discourses, the objective is to put in evidence the argumentative referrals offered by the enunciator, which reveal to be the discourse a snippet of reality, contradicting the journalistic texts´ pretension of being considered as a faithful representation of reality by the information of events
