A biblioteconomia negra no Brasil : levantamento bibliográfico na área da ciência da informação

Black Librarianship is considered a breakthrough in the area of Information Science, as the latter seeks recognition and equality for the Afro-Brazilian and African population, where research and projects that address the ethnic-racial theme become actions and discussions within the praxis of information professionals. However, for this, it is necessary to explore the possible ways in which librarian professionals can contribute to the fight against racism, recognize the construction of a black librarianship in Brazil from the practice and curricular transformation of the librarian(a) within the scope of Afro-Brazilian and African cultures in Brazil. Given these premises, the present research starts from the general objective of characterizing black librarianship, in its conceptual theoretical aspects and its approach in the scientific publications of Information Science, indexed in the Reference Database of Journal Articles in Information Science (BRAPCI). Regarding the specific objectives, it sought to verify the scientific methodologies used by the authors of these articles, identify the institutions in which the authors of the research are linked, which publish on the theme of Black Librarianship in Brazil and present the contributions of the works that were presented to Information Science, through the analysis of the conclusions of these works. An exploratory methodology was used with a qualitative and quantitative approach, in which a bibliographic survey was carried out on 14 (fourteen) works retrieved from BRAPCI. As a result, there was a scarcity of published works that address this theme and a predominance of the methodologies used, where the vast majority are bibliographic research of an exploratory nature. It is concluded that this theme needs to be extensively worked on by librarians, teachers and disseminators of information, both in classrooms and in social environments, in order to build an egalitarian society
