Resumo: This paper seeks to think about the art of contestation and its critical aesthetics from two productions by Brazilian artists during the Brazilian military dictatorship (1964-1985). We take as case studies the art of Cildo Meireles (1948) and Artur Barrio (1945). Our analysis for this study was qualitative and bibliographic in nature. Authors who helped us to think about art and its contestation poetics were: Agamben (2009), Cayses (2014), Herzog (2006), Melim (2008) and Rodrigues (2012, 2013, 2015, 2017). The results of this writing reveal the critical power of the so-called “guerrilla” airs and the powers of transformative thinking that works of this type of art can provide us, leading to citizen action in the fight against the totalitarian regime.

Universidade Federal do Tocantins2022-11-17info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/entreletras/article/view/1444110.20873/uft2179-3948.2022v13n2p52-62EntreLetras; v. 13 n. 2 (2022): DOSSIÊ - POÉTICAS E IMAGENS DO CAOS: ÉTICA, ESTÉTICA E POLÍTICA; 52 - 622179-3948reponame:EntreLetrasinstname:Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT)instacron:UFTporhttps://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/entreletras/article/view/14441/20609Copyright (c) 2022 EntreLetrashttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessRodrigues, Walace2022-11-17T04:54:45Zoai:ojs.revista.uft.edu.br:article/14441Revistahttps://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/entreletras/indexPUBhttps://sistemas.uft.edu.br/periodicos/index.php/entreletras/oai||luiza.to@uft.edu.br|| revista@uft.edu.br2179-39482178-9479opendoar:2022-11-17T04:54:45EntreLetras - Universidade Federal do Tocantins (UFT)false
