Resumo: ABSTRACT. The general objective of this study is to understand the use of the Didactic Book (LD) of Natural Sciences in classes from 6th to 9th year of rural schools. Specifically, the research aimed to know the methodological uses of the Natural Sciences LD in classes from the 6th to the 9th year of elementary school in rural schools and to identify how teachers use the LD of Natural Sciences. Descriptive research was carried out, with a qualitative approach, since this type of research was the one best suited to the object and objectives of the study. Data collection instruments, simple observation and interview were used as instruments. The study was carried out in one of the rural located in the municipality of Juazeiro do Piauí. The interlocutors were two teachers who works with the curricular component of Natural Sciences and who joined the research in a free and conscious way. The results point out that methodological tensions in the use of the Natural Sciences LD, include failures in the selection process and the availability by the Ministry of Education (MEC) of materials that do not value peasant reality. Thus, it is necessary to implement continuous training processes through which teachers reflect on their conceptions of rural and peasant culture and dynamize the ways of using LDs.

En concreto, la investigación objetivó conocer los usos metodológicos del LD de Ciencias Naturales en grupos del 6º al 9º año de la Enseñanza Fundamental de escuelas del campo e identificar cómo los profesores utilizan el LD de Ciencias Naturales. Se realizó una investigación descriptiva, de abordaje cualitativo, por ser ese tipo de investigación lo que mejor se adecuó al objeto y objetivos del estudio. Se utilizó como instrumentos de recolección de datos, la observación simple y la entrevista. El estudio se llevó a cabo en una escuela de campo ubicada en el municipio de Juazeiro do Piauí.  Las interlocutoras fueron dos profesores que trabajan con el componente curricular de Ciencias Naturales y que se adhirieron a la investigación de forma libre y consciente. Los resultados apuntan que las tensiones metodológicas en la utilización del LD de Ciencias Naturales, incluyen fallas en el proceso de elección y la puesta a disposición, por el Ministerio de Educación (MEC), de materiales que no valoran la realidad campesina. De esta forma, es necesario la implementación de procesos de formación continuada a través de los cuales, los docentes reflexionan sobre sus concepciones de campo y cultura campesina y dinamizan las formas de utilización de los LDs.ABSTRACT. Especificamente, a pesquisa objetiva conhecer os usos metodológicos do LD de Ciências Naturais em turmas do 6º ao 9º ano do Ensino Fundamental de escolas do campo e identificar como os professores utilizam o LD de Ciências Naturais. Realizou-se pesquisa descritiva, de abordagem qualitativa, por ser esse tipo de pesquisa o que melhor se adequou ao objeto e objetivos do estudo. Como instrumentos de coleta de dados, utilizou-se a observação simples e a entrevista. O estudo foi realizado em uma escola do campo situada no município de Juazeiro do Piauí. As interlocutoras foram duas professores que trabalham com o componente curricular de Ciências Naturais e que aderiram à investigação de forma livre e consciente. Os resultados apontam que as tensões metodológicas na utilização do LD de Ciências Naturais incluem falhas no processo de escolha e a disponibilização, pelo Ministério da Educação (MEC), de materiais que não valorizam a realidade camponesa. Dessa forma, é necessário a implementação de processos de formação continuada através dos quais os docentes reflitam sobre suas concepções de campo e cultura camponesa e dinamizem as formas de utilização dos LDs.
