School and democracy: the concept of school education as the relevance of learning with teaching

Resumo: | The objective of this essay is to analyze the impasses in education at the interface between school and democracy. To analyze the school and democracy, we start from Freud's (1996) preposition that there are three impossible professions – educate, heal and govern. This reference allows another form of interpretation, in which the discussion on the issue of school education is beyond the critical sense of the subject of enlightened reason. The justification of this essay has as its central point to understand the contradictions that present themselves in the impasses of education for the realization of a democratic society in which the teacher and the student cancel each other out in the field of educational relations. The methodology used in this essay is in the field of critical theory, taking as theoretical support the Philosophy of Education. Our conclusion directly refers to the praise of the school as a place to exercise the realization of democracy, in which learning with teaching takes place in a relationship of dialogue, in full equality in being present with the other. This school experience of being present with the other would be the possibility of realizing the pedagogical relevance of learning with teaching. |

Para analizar la escuela y la democracia, partimos de la premisa de Freud (1996) de que existen “[...] tres profesiones imposibles: educar, curar y gobernar” (FREUD, 1996, p. 3216). Esta referencia abre otra forma de interpretación, en la que la discusión sobre el tema de la educación escolar va más allá del sentido crítico del sujeto de la razón ilustrada. La justificación de este ensayo tiene como punto central comprender las contradicciones que se presentan en los impasses de la educación para la realización de una sociedad democrática en la que el docente y el alumno se anulan en el campo de las relaciones educativas. La metodología utilizada en este ensayo se encuentra en el campo de la teoría crítica, tomando como aporte teórico la Filosofía de la Educación. Nuestra conclusión se refiere directamente al elogio de la escuela como lugar para el ejercicio de la realización de la democracia, en la que el aprender con la enseñanza se da en una relación de diálogo, en plena igualdad en la presencia con el otro. Esta experiencia escolar de estar presente con el otro sería la posibilidad de darse cuenta de la pertinencia pedagógica del aprender con la enseñanza.O objetivo deste ensaio consiste em analisar os impasses na educação na interface entre escola e democracia. Para analisar a escola e a democracia, partimos da proposição de Freud (1996) de que existem três profissões impossíveis – educar, curar e governar. Essa referência permite outra forma de interpretação, em que a discussão sobre a questão da educação escolar se encontra para além do senso crítico do sujeito da razão esclarecida. A justificativa deste ensaio tem como ponto central compreender as contradições que se apresentam nos impasses da educação para a realização da sociedade democrática em que o professor e o aluno se anulam no campo das relações educativas. A metodologia utilizada encontra-se no campo da teoria crítica, tomando como aporte teórico a Filosofia da Educação. A nossa conclusão se refere diretamente ao elogio da escola como lugar para o exercício da realização da democracia, em que o aprender com o ensinar ocorre numa relação de diálogo, na plena igualdade em estar presente com o outro.
