CONCEPTUAL AND PRACTICAL ASPECTS IN THE ARTICULATION OF TEACHING, RESEARCH AND EXTENSION: THE EXPERIENCE WITH SOLIDARITY ECONOMY AT THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF SÃO CARLOS

Summary: University extension has been the object of analysis and discussion at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), in the Brazilian Pro-Rectors Forums, in various academic circles and, recently, it has resurfaced with the discussion on Curricularization of University Extension, aiming to meet the need to inclusion in the pedagogical projects of undergraduate courses, as required by the Guidelines for Extension in Brazilian Higher Education. This article examines university concepts and practices in the context of Solidarity Economy from the Regional Incubator of Popular Cooperatives (INCOOP) and its successor: Multidisciplinary Center for Studies, Training and Intervention in Solidarity Economy (NuMI-EcoSol/UFSCar), as a contribution to overcome perspectives that separate, and often antagonize teaching, research and extension, understood here as core activities, or specific activities of the University to ensure the fulfillment of its goal of knowledge production. The work includes the systematization of the history of NuMI-EcoSol and its activities, such as: specialization course, disciplines, research and extension projects. Finally, contributions from the perspective of solidarity economy are highlighted for the revision and improvement of concepts related to the role of the University, its relationship with society and conditions for the development of its activities compatible with contemporary requirements to which Science must respond.

Este artículo examina conceptos y prácticas universitarias en el contexto de la Economía Solidaria desde la Incubadora Regional de Cooperativas Populares (INCOOP) y su sucesora: Centro Multidisciplinario de Estudios, Capacitación e Intervención en Economía Solidaria (NuMI-EcoSol/UFSCar), como contribución a la superar perspectivas que separan, y muchas veces antagonizan, la docencia, la investigación y la extensión, entendidas aquí como actividades medulares, o actividades específicas de la Universidad para asegurar el cumplimiento de su finalidad de producción de conocimiento. El trabajo comprende la sistematización de la historia de NuMI-EcoSol y sus actividades, tales como: curso de especialización, disciplinas, proyectos de investigación y extensión. Finalmente, se destacan aportes desde la perspectiva de la economía solidaria para la revisión y perfeccionamiento de conceptos relacionados con el rol de la Universidad, su relación con la sociedad y las condiciones para el desarrollo de sus actividades compatibles con los requerimientos contemporáneos a los que debe responder la Ciencia.A extensão universitária tem sido objeto de análise e discussão na Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar), nos Fóruns de Pró-Reitores brasileiros, em diversos meios acadêmicos e, recentemente, ressurgiu com a discussão sobre Curricularização da Extensão Universitária visando atender a necessidade de inclusão nos projetos pedagógicos dos cursos de graduação, conforme exigência das Diretrizes para a Extensão na Educação Superior Brasileira. Este artigo examina conceitos e práticas universitárias no contexto da Economia Solidária a partir da Incubadora Regional de Cooperativas Populares (INCOOP) e seu sucessor: Núcleo Multidisciplinar de Estudos, Formação e Intervenção em Economia Solidária (NuMI-EcoSol/UFSCar), como contribuição para superar perspectivas que apartam, e muitas vezes antagonizam ensino, pesquisa e extensão, entendidas aqui como atividades-fim, ou próprias e específicas da Universidade para garantir o cumprimento de seu objetivo de produção de conhecimento. O trabalho inclui a sistematização da história do NuMI-EcoSol e de suas atividades, como: curso de especialização, disciplinas, projetos de pesquisa e de extensão.
