Resumo: Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is characterized by difficulty in social interaction, delayed verbal language, cognition and limited patterns and estereotypes of behavior and interests. In Brazil, there are few epidemiological data on individuals with ASD. However, based on World Health Organization (WHO) data on average every 160 (one hundred qnd sixty) children 1 (one) presents ASD. Based on the exposed the present research gathered approximately 30 (thirty) literary resources with the goal to measure epidemiological, clinical and social data about TEA, becoming a tool for families of ASD sufferers, students and researchers or anyone who is interested in the subject. Among these resources, observational studies, systematic reviews and researches that exposed the national scenario were used. Only articles published on 2000 or later were chosen. Throughout the study, it was possible to verify that DSA has several causal factors and different clinical and social manifestations requiring solid multidisciplinary monitoring, bearing in mind that nutritional, neurodidactic and emotional stimuli help in the best prognosis of autism.

No Brasil, existem poucos dados epidemiológicos sobre indivíduos portadores de TEA. No entanto, com base nos dados da OMS em média a cada 160 crianças 1 apresenta TEA. Com base no exposto acima, o presente estudo reuniu aproximadamente 30 recursos literários com o objetivo de mensurar os dados epidemiológicos, clínicos e sociais a respeito do TEA, tornando-se este trabalho uma ferramenta para as famílias de portadores de TEA, estudantes e pesquisadores ou qualquer indivíduo que tenha interesse sobre o assunto. Dentre esses recursos foram utilizados estudos observacionais, revisões sistemáticas e pesquisas que expunham o cenário nacional, ainda foram escolhidos apenas artigos a partir do ano 2000.
