This dissertation aims at the study of an architectural proposal for the implementation of a Cohousing for the elderly, in the city of Garopaba, Santa Catarina. A new proposal for collective housing, a place with varied services, community areas that integrate housing, leisure, coexistence, entertainment and culture, away from the idea of asylum, transforming and encouraging healthy and active aging, promoting the integration of their users. For this, the analysis of the biological manifestations in the third age, analyzing the natural processes of the aging phenomenon, was initially done. Following with the analysis of healthy aging, conceptualizing the quality of life, good habit practices. As a result of aging with quality, Law 10.741 / 2003, the Statute of the Elderly, will be analyzed, making it necessary to analyze the inclusive architecture, based on the NBR 9050 standard. With the analysis of the Cohousing collective housing form, emphasizing the advantages of the model . Projects already executed for the elaboration of a program of needs coherent to an integrating architectural proposal were analyzed. With the urban diagnosis of the proposed area, the characteristics of land use, road system, climatic aspects and legislation were analyzed. Finally, it was presented the concept and party of the proposal, which aims at the architectural proposal of a set of residences implanted in the sea border in the Center district, showing spaces that attend to the functional, volumetric and social issues.
