In this thesis we look to analyze the road system of the city of Tubarão, located in the south of Santa Catarina. To do this, it was necessary to determine, based on the history of urban occupation and the road structure of the city, the best solutions for urban mobility in terms of traffic flow evolution in the city of Tubarão. Still encompassing the analysis made, was made the delimitation of zones and peak hours and also the main interferences in the current road system of the city. The approach used was quantitative, and the procedure for data collection was the survey, where the data were analyzed through questionnaires. The results of the present study demonstrate that the current municipal road system, still adept at constant changes, does not accompany the unbridled growth of the number of private vehicles. It was concluded that, observing the results of the applied questionnaire, the population disapproves in large part of the service offered for the use of public collective transport, making the vehicle itself become the first option. In order for the framework to be reversed, a revitalization of the entire public transport system is necessary, making it more attractive and thus generating more comfort and convenience for those who use it.
