In a society where the construction companies aim to the profit and to the lowest cost for their works, there is a need to research methods for that these visions reach the result expected by them. Thereby, there are several constructive options that can be used, but due to the poorly trained workforce, one ends up opting for the use of reinforced concrete, to maintain an acceptable performance even without a high-quality control, besides presenting a better cost-benefit ratio when compared to proposed structures with other materials, such as steel and wood. The present research proposes to define which elements of a reinforced concrete structure can be better dimensioned with the changes of the characteristic resistance to the compression (fck), being able, therefore, to reduce the armature rates and to provide lower cost with the materials.
