Resumo: This study aimed to expose the characteristics and peculiarities of the biofuel used in contemporary brazilian aviation, comparing their performance with the fuel most used commercially, the querosene. This is an exploratory research with bibliographic and documentary procedure through books, articles, reports , regulations and laws. The approach used was qualitative and quantitative. Data analysis was done by means of graphs and tables, analyzed according to the theoretical foundation. By analyzing the results, it is concluded that the biofuel is the best option for a more clean and renewable source of energy, as well as being more economical. With the greatest risk of this type of fuel the effect it can have on food production.

Caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa exploratória com procedimento bibliográfico e documental por meio de livros, artigos, reportagens, regulamentos e leis. A abordagem utilizada foi qualitativa e quantitativa. A análise dos dados foi feita por meio de gráficos e quadros, analisados de acordo com a fundamentação teórica. Ao analisar os resultados obtidos, conclui-se que o biocombustível é a melhor opção para uma fonte mais limpa e renovável de energia, além de ser mais econômico.
