Resumo: | With the growing worldwide concern about emissions of polluting gases, various economic sectors are seeking alternative forms of energy. In the aviation sector, these alternative forms of energy are being evaluated and biofuel is an interesting alternative to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, as the air transport sector is constantly growing, with increasing consumption of fossil fuels, impacts on the environment are already highly harmful. In addiction, the scarcity of fossil fuel sources and the high price of oil have also been considered to justify the importance that has been given to aviation biofuel research. This undergraduate thesis discussed the future of aviation fuels and aimed to know the main sources of biofuels used in aviation that can replace those currently used, which are derived from fossil fuels, thus reducing the impacts caused to the environment. In the methodology, it is characterized as an exploratory research and the procedure for data collection is characterized as bibliographic and documentary based on articles, books, magazines, virtual documents, reports, regulations and laws. The approach used was qualitative and quantitative. Data analysis was performed through the subjects presented according to the theoretical foundation. By analyzing the results obtained, it can be concluded that biofuels are a clean and renewable source of energy and that there are many sources of sustainable fuels that can be used in aviation and can replace current fossil fuels, with the idea of developing a more sustainable aviation. and committed to the preservation of the environment. But while aviation biofuels are already a reality, much financial resources and government incentives are still needed to develop new technologies to produce large-scale biofuels at a price similar to the fuel used today, making the product competitive and attractive for air operators. |

No setor da aviação, estas formas alternativas de energia estão sendo avaliadas e o biocombustível mostra-se uma interessante alternativa para reduzir as emissões de gases do efeito estufa, já que o setor de transporte aéreo está em constante crescimento, com consumo cada vez mais alto de combustível fóssil, os impactos sobre o meio ambiente já são altamente nocivos. Aliado a isso, a escassez de fontes para combustíveis fósseis e o alto preço do petróleo também têm sido considerados para justificar a importância que tem sido dada a pesquisas com biocombustíveis para a aviação. Este trabalho trouxe a discussão sobre o futuro dos combustíveis na aviação e objetivou conhecer as principais fontes de biocombustíveis utilizadas na aviação que podem substituir os utilizados atualmente, que são derivados de combustíveis fósseis, sendo assim, reduzindo os impactos causados ao meio ambiente. Na metodologia, caracteriza-se como uma pesquisa exploratória e o procedimento para coleta de dados caracteriza-se como bibliográfico e documental, fundamentado em artigos, livros, revistas, documentos virtuais, reportagens, regulamentos e leis. A abordagem utilizada foi de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa. A análise dos dados foi feita por meio dos assuntos apresentados de acordo com a fundamentação teórica. A análise dos dados leva a conclusão de que os biocombustíveis são um fonte limpa e renovável de energia e que existem muitas fontes de combustíveis sustentáveis capazes de serem utilizadas na aviação e que podem substituir os atuais combustíveis fósseis, na busca do desenvolvimento de uma aviaç ão mais sustentável e comprometida com a preservac o do meio ambiente.
