The present work begins by contextualizing the main factors for the airport concessions carried out in Brazil. Its main objective is to analyze the main factors that influence airport concessions currently carried out and the procedures and effects of these concessions. A brief history of the Brazilian air transport market, conditions of the Brazilian airport structure, as well as its main current demands and future challenges is presented. A descriptive exploratory qualitative research methodology was used to identify and articulate the fundamental topics for the occurrence of airport concessions, present in national legislation, regulations, as well as in communication portals.  Afterwards, the main guidelines for the concession of airports in the country were presented, and the current directions of airport concession were presented. Finally, reflected on some effects after the airport concession procedures in Brazil, and perspectives in the area for the future. It was noted that the capacity of airport infrastructure installed in Brazil is enough to meet demand until at least 2025, from that moment some difficulties may appear due a greater increase in the relation between offer and demand, so there are other alternatives to the airport concession, as contract management, to establish perpetual franchises where is explored the total right of airport development or the privatization of airports blocks for the better infrastructure development.
