Brazil is a country that has immeasurable natural wealth to be conserved and consciously exploited. one of these riches is the oil that is in the basement of our coast. in order to reach the places where oil production takes place, it is necessary to fly, more precisely to fly with the latest generation helicopters conducted by experienced and regularly trained crew, this is offshore aviation. brazilian offshore aviation is lacking in national surveys that would contribute to flight safety, there is no proper regulation where the characteristics of the operation are taken into account. the operational routines adopted are a number of regulations and operational routines adopted in other countries. although effective, they do not address the challenges imposed by the characteristics inherent to our country of continental dimensions. given this scenario, it is necessary to present a descriptive research on the national offshore market, stimulating more professionals in the area to carry out studies focused on the characteristics and challenges of this market, thus serving as a source of information for future pilots who want to fly in this field of aviation. for this, the main characteristics of the everyday operations of offshore air operations are described, evidencing the relationship between the aeronautical industry, naval and the exploitation of natural resources. offshore operations are complex and require country-specific laws and regulations, stimulate research, and present relevant national studies of offshore operations. offshore will provide the intellectual resources for drafting these laws and regulations, allowing for more efficient and safe operational routines. faced with the reality of current offshore air operations, the study exposes key features to make a point of the complexity of the interaction between the sectors involved and how they complement each other. the dissemination of studies related to this area will provide greater security in the operations and will provide greater visibility of the aviation sector that moves one of the pillars of the national economy.
