This research will address the main causes and consequences of the growing demand for air transportation and how impacts in airport management. With globalization, there was a breakdown of geographical limits and the approximation of countries and markets, with which, there was an increase in the movement of world air traffic. The absence of an effective management plan and the lack of investments prevented the development and modernization of the airport infrastructure. That is why today we see situations such as congested airports, lack of structure, poor quality of services and operational inefficiency present in the main Brazilian metropolises. Operational bottlenecks occur at almost all airports and result in restricted schedules, the size of aircrafts and number of operations, as well as delays in air traffic or meteorology, accounting for losses that impact on the development of airlines, damaging the logistics of the delivery of goods and transport of passengers. The lack of infrastructure that connects transport modes is another problem that congests avenues and highways to access the airport terminal, causing discomfort to passengers, delayed logistics of goods and once again accounted for losses to the sector.
