Commercial aviation is one of the main means of transport in the world, making it possible to transport cargo and passengers over long distances quickly and safely, however, despite its many benefits, this aviation sector ends up negatively affecting the environment, with the noise pollution generated by aeronautical noise, causing several consequences in people's lives, especially in people who live near airports and are exposed to this noise for long periods. Thus, this work aims to analyze the impacts caused by aeronautical noise and the level of discomfort on the well-being and health of the inhabitants of the surroundings of the Zumbi dos Palmares International Airport in Maceió – AL. Describe the main consequences and complaints of residents around the airport, checking the level of discomfort in different locations around the airport, and in addition to presenting the mitigating measures proposed by airport and local authorities. It is characterized as applied research, with a qualitative and quantitative approach, of an explanatory and descriptive nature, containing bibliographic and documentary procedures, investigating articles, books, regulations and laws inherent to the topic addressed, associated with the survey and case study in the surrounding area. airport. The analysis and demonstration of the data was performed by means of charts and graphs, which were analyzed and interpreted in line with the theoretical framework. During the research, it was observed that vehicle traffic noise is more inconvenient than aircraft noise, being considered by many people as extremely irritating. With the completion of the research, it was possible to identify that the main consequence that aeronautical noise causes in the population, are interruptions of some daily activities. The main people affected are those residing in areas of incompatible use established in the regulation (RBAC 161), which regulates aeronautical noise. The lack of communication between the airport and local authorities may cause a disorderly population growth around the airport, which can generate health risks and discomfort in the lives of these people.
