This research aims to analyze the contributing factors in the occurrences of wrong deck landing in aviation of helicopters in Brazil. Due to the significant expansion in oil exploration in the country and the discovery of the pre-salt, the number of offshore platforms and support vessels equipped with helideck has increased, so the helicopter has become the most widely used mode for transporting people and equipment due to its efficiency and safety. However, this increase in flight demand has led to an increase in the number of landings on the wrong platform that is considered by CENIPA to be an aeronautical incident and poses major security risks in offshore operations. For this reason, it is necessary to describe what a wrong deck landing is, to justify how human factors can be determinant in the occurrence of the wrong deck landing, and to identify mitigating actions that can minimize the risks of the wrong deck landing. Therefore, knowing and understanding the preconditions for its occurrence are at least desirable. An exploratory research, with a bibliographical and documentary procedure and with a qualitative approach, is carried out exclusively through the collection of information through the Internet, since there is still little specialized literature on the subject. In the light of this based on statistical data obtained worldwide, it has been shown that, in recent years, human factors are always related to this type of occurrence in offshore aviation. This research seeks to demonstrate this correlation and presents mitigating actions to minimize the risks of a wrong deck landing.
