Work safety is the science created to study, implement and supervise techniques and procedures in order to eliminate workplace accidents and ensure improved quality of life of workers in their working environments. A breakthrough on issues related to occupational safety occurred with the creation of the International Labor Organization - OIT, which emerged after the First World War with the aim of improving the working conditions of a discredited by the population after the war. This organization based in Geneva, Switzerland has developed an important role in the development of numerous conventions and regulations on work safety which were internationally broadcast by its member countries, among them Brazil, which applies its guidelines on national standards. In order to write on this topic showing important applicability in the prevention of work accidents will speak this course conclusion monography on the correlation of existing standards in Brazil, created by the MTE by decree 3214 of 1978, emphasizing those with the highest impact on the elimination of the existing risks in the operating environments of enterprises waters and healing the state of Santa Catarina. Companies that are linked to a construction industry that despite having important environmental role, has in its production processes numerous types of risks, among them those indicated in current law NR-33, with activities respectively connected to confined spaces. And of course to make a brief introduction about the historical evolution of occupational safety process in the world and in Brazil and on the organizational structure of the Ministry of Labour and Employment of Brazil.
