Resumo: This monograph analyzes the growth of United States militarism since Eisenhower's 1961 speech, when he warned of the dangers of the military complex, although he also spent high amounts on the military sector, the monograph still highlights the negative aspects that military spending has on the social and economic welfare of the United States. This monograph will also show that militarism affects both the minds of citizens and the content of political debates. The Military complex highlights the political and financial relations between legislators, national armed transparency and the so-called “defense” industry, the great profiteers of war. These relationships include political contributions, approval policy for spending on arms and war, lobbying to support bureaucracies and industry supervision, this process takes place through interest groups and their lobbying.

Esta monografia também mostrará que o militarismo afeta as mentes dos cidadãos e o conteúdo dos debates políticos. O complexo industrial militar normalmente destaca as relações políticas e financeiras entre legisladores, forças armadas nacionais e a chamada indústria de “defesa”, os grandes aproveitadores de guerra.
