A business plan consists of a document that sets out the objectives, which steps need to be taken for these objectives to be successful, minimizing risks and uncertainties. A business plan predisposes the farmer to recognize and curb mistakes while on paper, rather than making them on the market. The strawberry is recognized for being a profitable cultivation option for small properties and fits very well to the family farming model. The fruit is not popularly cultivated in the city of Treze de Maio, Santa Catarina, and the opportunity to start a business was perceived. The study aims to address economic and administrative aspects of a strawberry-producing rural property, assessing its economic-financial viability. The established scenario will be a semi-hydroponic cultivation with the capacity to produce 15 tons of the fruit annually. A business plan referenced by the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service was prepared to verify the viability of the enterprise, reaching optimistic results. Annually, the total sales revenue in the scenario studied was R $ 325,977.60 (three hundred and twenty-five thousand, nine hundred and seventy-seven reais and sixty cents) and the operating result, which indicates the profit of the property, was quantified in R $ 48,888.24 (forty eight thousand, eight hundred and eighty eight reais and twenty four centavos). Therefore, the investment made to start the business with a value of R $ 177,239.54 (one hundred and seventy-seven thousand, two hundred and thirty-nine reais and fifty-four cents) will return in 47 months. To compute these numbers, the study demonstrates step by step all the calculations necessary to not arrive at a false result.
