This study aims to analyze the possibility of naming the stillborn, in seats of this nature, registered in Book C Auxiliary of the Civil Registry Offices of Natural Persons. To achieve the stated purpose, a study of deductive method was carried out, with bibliographic, doctrinal and jurisprudential research. The level of research carried out was exploratory. It was found that, until the year 2012, intense resistance for the name registration to stillbirth prevailed, including with some court decisions not accepting such element in the registry, in the absence of a provision in the Public Records Law (Law No. 6.015 / 73). Within the scope of jurisprudence and the rules of the country's corregerias, there was a uniform evolution of understanding, in the sense of gradually authorizing the insertion of the name in the stillbirth record for the one who had life, albeit brief, on the grounds the right to personality and the principle of human dignity. In this perspective, there are some bills that intend to change the wording of article 53 of Law 6.015 / 73, to correct the omission in relation to the possibility of registering the name of stillborn.
