Um estudo sobre o ensino da arte: proposta curricular de Santa Catarina e a prática docente

Resumo: This study focuses on art language, theoretical assumptions for teaching, and investigation of teaching practices in primary school, offering suggestions for such practice. Considerations upon art and its introduction in the Brazilian educational system are made. Theoretical assumptions for teaching art according to the guidelines recommended by the 1998 Santa Catarina curriculum proposal are also evoked. Field research data analysis is carried out following the theoretical guidelines presented here. Ten teachers from five downtown Criciúma state schools and five from the outskirts of the city were engaged in the research to investigate how art is being taught in the different classes. The current study aims at contributing for the elaboration of a document designed to help teachers think about art and teach their students following the established principles. The relevance of the 1998 Santa Catarina curriculum proposal in stimulating art teachers‟ awareness of their important role in shaping citizens is also highlighted. The main objective of this study is to identify art language features and teachers‟ comprehension of the Santa Catarina curriculum proposal in their daily practice, such as bringing art work from local artists to school as recommended. In conclusion, the importance of an educational policy for teaching art is established. Another conclusion is that exercises of imagination, self-expression, discovery and creation recover one of the teaching functions, that is, to create a new space for perceptive experiences provided by the diversity of values, senses and intentions. The 1998 Santa Catarina curriculum proposal can also be better studied and applied.

The 1998 Santa Catarina curriculum proposal can also be better studied and applied.Esta dissertação apresenta um estudo sobre os pressupostos teóricos no ensino da arte e a práxis docente do ensino fundamental e algumas sugestões para esta prática. Como aporte teórico recorre-se às reflexões sobre a arte, à historicização do processo de inserção de seu estudo no sistema educacional brasileiro e aos pressupostos teóricos para seu ensino, bem como aos aportes da Proposta Curricular de Santa Catarina, de 1998. A teoria apresentada serve como eixo articulador/condutor para a análise dos dados colhidos na pesquisa de campo. Foram selecionados dez (10) professores da Rede Estadual de Ensino do Município de Criciúma, de escolas no centro e cinco escolas nos bairros. Investiga-se e analisa-se como está acontecendo à prática docente dos professores de artes da rede estadual de ensino, nas referidas séries. Pretende-se que este estudo se constitua em um documento de pesquisa que possa contribuir para reflexão sobre a importância da arte e de seu ensino. Destaca-se também a relevância da Proposta Curricular de Santa Catarina 1998 para o despertar dos professores de arte para a importância de seu papel na formação do cidadão. O objetivo norteador desta pesquisa é o de identificar como se dá a prática docente; verifica-se a compreensão dos professores em relação à proposta curricular de santa Catarina de 1998 na sua prática cotidiana; investiga se a prática docente traz, para o cotidiano escolar, obras de artista locais, como prevê a proposta curricular. Conclui-se pela relevância de uma proposta de política educacional para o ensino de arte. Observa-se ainda que o desenvolvimento através do exercício da imaginação, da auto-expressão, da descoberta e da criação e recupera uma das funções deste ensino, ou seja, a de possibilitar um espaço para novas experiências perceptivas, propiciadas por uma diversidade de valores, sentidos e intenções.
