Resumo: The present work proposes a joint analysis of two works whose characters are directly related to the mirror and which see their images reproduced by other people being reflected in the mirrors, also sought to analyze how the jolt ripening and death reverberate in these characters. The first study is about the film Cléo de 5 á 7 (1962), by the French filmmaker Agnès Varda, which uses the protagonist's relationship with mirrors as a means to see and reflect the views of those around her on her personality and, later, how she obtains control over her own image and her relationship with death. The second work under examination is the poem Mirror, written in 1961 by Sylvia Plath, where the mirror is the lyrical voice and who houses the image and anxieties of a woman throughout her life. The poem questions maturity, and consequently death. Both products are analyzed through the eyes of the Italian philosopher Emanuele Coccia, using his book The Sensible Life, from 2010, which proposes a new way of studying and understanding how the reproduction of images and cultural objects arise, remain and influence our world, with the mirror as the main means of this reproduction.

O poema questiona a maturidade e, conseqüentemente, a morte.
