Due to the need for humanity to review its concepts in relation to the use of driving force from fossil fuels, which are limited and polluting, it needs to look for alternative and more efficient as well as sustainable sources to use in propulsion, trying to decrease even more significant the already low impact of aviation when compared to other forms of transport in relation to pollution. This research had as general objective to understand and analyze all the factors that interfere in the substitution of combustion engines currently used, by electric motors in commercial aircraft in large scale. Analyze and describe the necessary factors, demonstrate the current limitations to achieve this transition. Present the economic, environmental and health impacts of the population. Propose alternative operational measures using electric driving force energy in operations. Procedures for obtaining data in a bibliographic form and with an exploratory characteristic with a qualitative approach. The result showed the complexity in the large-scale implementation of electric motors in commercial aircraft due to technological and storage limitations, but showed operational alternatives already in use, such as applications in development.
