Resumo: One of the subjects most treated in recent years by the intellectual society, but also by authorities during major conventions of several countries in the world is the reduction of the emission of pollutants emitted into the atmosphere. From this bias, we studied one of the numerous actions to be taken by our society in order to reduce the emission of pollutants: the feasibility of using electric motors in commercial aviation. Although commercial aviation contributes a small share of these emissions, the company's objective is to extinguish this portion of all responsible sectors, with the aim of achieving the total elimination of these emissions. Thus, it is the objective of this research to understand the feasibility of using electric motors in commercial aviation to reduce the emission of pollutants in the atmosphere. For the development of this objective, it was made an exploratory research with a qualitative approach. In relation to the collection of data, this is a bibliographical and documentary research. The results presented highlight the difficulties of implementing electric motors in commercial aviation and the alternatives already used to reduce the emission of pollutants, aiming at sustainable aviation.

A partir deste viés, foi estudado uma das inúmeras ações a serem tomadas pela nossa sociedade a fim desta redução de emissão de poluentes: a viabilidade do uso de motores elétricos na aviação comercial. Apesar da aviação comercial contribuir com uma pequena parcela destas emissões, o objetivo da sociedade é extinguir esta parcela de todos os setores responsáveis, com o intuito de atingir a eliminação total destas emissões. Assim, é objetivo desta pesquisa compreender a viabilidade do uso de motores elétricos na aviação comercial para a redução da emissão de poluentes na atmosfera. Para o desenvolvimento desse objetivo, adotou-se a pesquisa do tipo exploratória com abordagem qualitativa. Em relação à coleta de dados, trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental.
