Resumo: The development of solutions in Information Technology (IT) has influenced the expansion of distance learning courses. Its structuring, based on digital technologies, such as the Learning Management System (LMS), acquires an important role in this context. The purpose of this research is to present the perceptions of Distance Education managers about the use of LMS. The analysis points to the need for a redefinition of the role of LMS, for the moment, essentially pedagogical. The weaknesses of the system as a management tool include gaps that can be investigated in future studies.

El objetivo de esta investigación es presentar las percepciones de gestores de Educación a Distancia sobre la utilización del LMS. El análisis apunta a la necesidad de una redefinición del papel del LMS, por ahora, esencialmente pedagógico.
