Resumo: Seeking to determine the possible causes for the poor quality of radiographs, open questionnaires were delivered to all professors at the ULBRA Dental School, Torres Campus, with 5 questions on radiographic processing. The respondents of the survey were the 16 professors who answered the questionnaire. Bardim Content Analysis was used to analyze the results. Organization of the results occurred at 3 different stages: pre-analysis, material exploration, and results treatment. Most of the teachers that learned to use the visual method in their college course are still using it. The results of the study show that there is no standardization in the radiographic processing used by the professors of different areas of the course. Moreover, radiographic processing steps, such as fixation time, final bath, drying, and storage, were not mentioned in the answers. There are learning problems among students regarding the radiographic process. It is necessary to recognize the importance of changes, inially by the professors from the different clinical areas of dentistry, to ensure that students will learn how to process their radiographs correctly not only in the college course but in their professional life.
