Analysis of efficiency of the Brazilian international airports

Resumo: The aerial transport is an important tool to provide the development of the national and world economy. This work has as objective to evaluate the efficiency of international airports situated in different areas of the country, using the technique Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). To accomplish that evaluation, a study of multiple cases was conducted, with an intentional sample of 26 international airports, and data referring to the years of 2005 in Brazil. Analysis of correlations was used to select the 0 variable most representative of this system and after that, it was calculated efficiency of the system for classic and inverted the borders by means of model BCC guided for output. Finally, it was possible to identify which improvements are necessary for the inefficient airports, in way to identify which improvements are necessary to operational level to reach the efficiency. Para isso, é necessário que essas infra-estruturas adotem técnicas para avaliar melhor seu desempenho operacional. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo avaliar a eficiência de aeroportos internacionais localizados em distintas regiões do país, utilizando a técnica Análise por Envoltória de Dados (DEA). Para realizar essa avaliação, conduziu-se um estudo de múltiplos casos, com uma amostra intencional de 26 aeroportos internacionais, com dados referentes ao ano de 2005 no Brasil. As variáveis empregadas nessa avaliação foram três inputs (área do pátio, capacidade dos terminais aeroportuários e numero de posições de estacionamento para os aviões) e dois outputs (a movimentação de carga e a quantidade de passageiros embarcados e desembarcados). Em seguida, utilizou-se o BCC orientado para o output para identificar quais melhorias são necessárias para os aeroportos ineficientes, de maneira a incrementar o nível operacional.
