Resumo: | The current classification systems, ICD 10 and DSM IV, exclude the comorbidity between attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and pervasive developmental disorder (PDD). On the other hand, clinical practice, neuroimaging research, neuropsychology and genetics demonstrate that the two disorders have much in common. Both are associated with deficits in executive control and difficulties in social contexts. New research is still needed to clarify these issues, but it is expected that in the next revisions of the ICD 10 and DSM IV the comorbidity between the disorders is accepted. |
