Resumo: This paper aims to identify the relation between press and electoral negative propaganda in Brazilian presidential campaings of 2014. We analyzed whether attacks issues were reinforced by free press beacuse of issues congruence named ripple effect. Our research hypothesis is, because of the normative ideal of press watch dog and value of negativeness in news, this agenda has repercussion of the Brazilian printed newspapers, mainly opposition agenda. The corpus of the research was composed by the analysis of the Free Electoral Advertising Hours (HGPE), spots and by texts of the two main national newspapers, namely Folha de São Paulo and O Globo during the electoral campaign. Finally, we founded some congruence between free press agenda and one candidate position attacks agenda, whats confirme partially our hypothese.
