From Political Discourse to Journalistic Discourse: Michel Temer's self-image and the production of meanings in portals G1/O Globo and Uol/Folha de S. Paulo

Resumo: This article reflects on the Brazilian political situation in the government of former President of Brazil Michel Temer, resulting from the impeachment process of then President Dilma Rousseff. The object of study is the construction of the self-image (discursive ethos) in Michel Temer's pronouncements, and the production of meanings carried out by the journalistic portals G1/O Globo and Uol/Folha de S. Paulo regarding such pronouncements. The general objective is to understand the possible changes from this political discourse to the journalistic discourse. The discursive analysis made it possible to identify similarities in the senses of the discursive formations of Temer's self-image with the discursive formations of the portals, demonstrating a lack of criticality in the journalistic approach. The impact that these discursive and power relations can bring, in the medium and long term, for democracy in the country is worrying.

O objeto de estudo é a construção da imagem de si (ethos discursivo) nos pronunciamentos de Michel Temer e a produção de sentidos realizada pelos portais jornalísticos G1/O Globo e Uol/Folha de S. Paulo a respeito de tais pronunciamentos. O objetivo geral é compreender as possíveis mudanças desse discurso político para o discurso jornalístico. A análise discursiva possibilitou identificar semelhanças nos sentidos das formações discursivas da imagem de si de Temer com as formações discursivas dos portais, demonstrando falta de criticidade na abordagem jornalística.
