Resumo: The imaginary of a spacial future for humanity in the current pandemic contexto emerged as a new challenge for design. The exercise involves the union of vastly distant territories, playing with points of view that should focus on the ur­gencies of the here and now on Earth, with speculations that invite us to look at the future of humanity in Space. These are the new frontiers that the discipline has gone through since the end of the last century, based on the notion of expanded design with which scenarios of uncertainty and complexity are interpreted. Anticipation, specu­lation and fiction are recent specialties that connect design with science, technology and art, to interpret formal, scientific, environmental and social aspects. Through a tour of different projects developed in the USA, United Kingdom and Argentina, hy­brid design models, contexts and stories that are part of a universal narrative about survival are analyzed.

El ejercicio implica unir territorios inmensamente distantes, jugando con puntos de vista que de­ben enfocar las urgencias del aquí y ahora en la Tierra, con la especulación que invita a levantar la mirada hacia el futuro de la humanidad en el Espacio. Son las nuevas fronteras que transita la disciplina desde finales del siglo pasado, a partir de la noción del diseño expandido con la que se interpretan escenarios de incertidumbre y complejidad. Anticipación, especulación y ficción, son especiali­dades recientes, que conectan al diseño con la ciencia, la tecnología y el arte, para interpretar aspectos formales, científicos, ambientales y sociales. Mediante un recorrido por distintos proyectos desarrollados en USA, Reino Unido y Argentina se analizan los modelos híbridos de diseño, los contextos y las historias que hacen parte de una narrativa universal sobre la supervivencia.O imaginário de um futuro espacial para o homem no atual contexto pandêmico surgiu como um novo desafio para o design. Este exercício envol­ve a união de territórios imensamente distantes, jogando com pontos de vista que deveriam centrar-se nas urgências do aqui e agora na Terra, com espe­culações que nos convidam a olhar para o futuro da humanidade no espaço. São as novas fronteiras pelas quais a disciplina passou desde o final do século passado, a partir da noção de design expandido, na qual cenários de incerte­za e complexidade são interpretados. Antecipação, especulação e ficção são especialidades recentes que conectam o design à ciência, à tecnologia e à arte, para interpretar aspectos formais, científicos, ambientais e sociais.
