Systemic Approach to Design Management at Institutes of Science and Technology: a case study from Embrapa Suínos e Aves

Resumo: The Science and Technology Institutes play a key role in the development of scientific research in Brazil and constitute an important environment for innovation. The objective of this article is to use the Systemic Approach, allied to Design Management, as a tool to understand the processes of research and development at Embrapa, assisting in the identification of new opportunities for research projects. Therefore, this research is applied, with a qualitative approach and its objectives are exploratory and descriptive, with technical procedures divided into bibliographic research and case study. The study showed that the Systemic Approach and the use of diagrams contribute to the understanding of the organization in its integrality, identifying the insertion of design in the system through the levels of Design Management. Therefore, it is possible to create strategies to integrate design into the corporate environment, improving process management and contributing to the strategic objectives of the organization.

El objetivo de este artículo es utilizar el Enfoque Sistémico, aliado al Gestión del Diseño, como herramienta para comprender los procesos de investigación y desarrollo en Embrapa Suínos e Aves, auxiliando en la identificación de nuevas oportunidades para proyectos de investigación. Por lo tanto, esta investigación es aplicada, con enfoque cualitativo y sus objetivos son exploratorios y descriptivos, con procedimientos técnicos divididos en investigación bibliográfica y estudio de caso. El estudio mostró que el Enfoque Sistémico y el uso de diagramas contribuyen a la comprensión de la organización en su totalidad, identificando la inserción del diseño en el sistema a través de los niveles de Gestión del Diseño. Por lo tanto, es posible crear estrategias de integración del diseño en el ambiente corporativo, mejorando la gestión de los procesos y contribuyendo con los objetivos estratégicos de la organización.Os Institutos de Ciência e Tecnologia têm papel fundamental no desenvolvimento de pesquisas científicas no Brasil e constituem um importante ambiente de inovação. O objetivo deste artigo é utilizar a Abordagem Sistêmica, aliada à Gestão de Design, como ferramenta para compreender os processos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento da Embrapa Suínos e Aves, auxiliando na identificação de novas oportunidades de projetos de pesquisa. Portanto, essa pesquisa é aplicada, com abordagem qualitativa e seus objetivos são exploratórios e descritivos, com procedimentos técnicos divididos em pesquisa bibliográfica e estudo de caso. O estudo mostrou que a Abordagem Sistêmica e a utilização de diagramas contribuem para a compreensão da organização em sua integralidade, identificando a inserção do design no sistema por meio dos níveis da Gestão de Design.
