Resumo: This article presents the studies developed by the Design, Information and Interaction (DII) research line at the Postgraduate Program in Design (PPG Design) at the University of Brasília (UnB) and involves its contributions to the advancement in the field in Brazil and abroad. The developed researches seek to investigate the contexts that involve information at life in society through analysis of different types of systems that mediate human action and involves critical and aesthetic approaches in contemporary design. In addition to the critical dimensions of design, the research seeks to understand the relationships between technologies, media and places and also their implications, promoting a debate about the theoretical and practical resources related to mediation and interaction in communicative processes and their possible crossings with other areas of knowledge in the design process.

La investigación desarrollada busca indagaren los contextos que involucran la información en la vida en sociedad, realizando análisis de los diferentes tipos de sistemas que median la acción humana y lainvestigación que involucra enfoques críticos y estéticos en el diseño contemporáneo. Además de las dimensiones críticas del diseño, la investigación busca comprender el estudio de las relaciones entre tecnologías, medios y lugares, así como sus implicaciones, promoviendo un debate sobre los recursos teóricos y prácticos relacionados con la mediación e interacción en los procesos comunicativos y sus posibilidades de cruce con otras áreas de conocimiento, en el proceso de construcción del diseño.Este artigo apresenta as pesquisas desenvolvidas pela linha Design, Informação e Interação (DII), no Programa de Pós-Graduação em Design (PPG Design) da Universidade de Brasília (UnB), por meio de suas contribuições para o avanço do campo no Brasil e no exterior. As pesquisas desenvolvidas buscam investigar os contextos que envolvem a informação na vida em sociedade, por meio de análises sobre os diversos tipos de sistemas mediadores a ação humana e pesquisas que envolvem abordagens críticas e estéticas no design contemporâneo.
