Resumo: This article describes the results of a digital inclusion project promoted by the Fab Social program, whose main objective is to develop basic design skills among the youth residents of the periphery, promoting access to open source software for design and digital manufacturing processes. With the proposal addressed here, it was possible for participants to explore design concepts as they digitally modeled and fabricated their own objects. The project was carried out in two phases: the first in 2013 and the second in 2014, both happened in CEUs (Uni ed Education Center) located in the outskirts of the city of Guarulhos, State of São Paulo. Applying an exploratory approach, the study assumes that young lay people in the area of design and computer graphics could bene t from access to technologies by experiencing the activity of creating and materializing their own models. The results obtained by the participants at the end of the second phase indicated a clear improvement in the individual graphic representation when representing an object. The authors hope that these results may serve as an alternative approach to design practice, indicating a possible development of graphic representation through digital technologies.

Universidade Anhambi Murumbi2016-12-27info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://datjournal.anhembi.br/dat/article/view/2810.29147/2526-1789.DAT.2016v1i2p51-61DAT Journal; Vol. 1 No. 2 (2016): Transdisciplinarity: Projects, Materials, and Processes; 51-61DAT Journal; Vol. 1 Núm. 2 (2016): Transdisciplinariedad: proyectos, materiales y procesos; 51-61DAT Journal; v. 1 n. 2 (2016): Transdisciplinaridades: Projetos, Materiais e Processos; 51-612526-178910.29147/dat.v1i2reponame:DATJournalinstname:Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (ANHEMBI)instacron:ANHEMBIporhttps://datjournal.anhembi.br/dat/article/view/28/21Garcia, AlexHenno, JulianaCampos, Paulo Eduardo FonsecaFleury, Andréinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccess2020-06-09T14:09:22Zoai:ojs.datjournal.anhembi.br:article/28Revistahttps://datjournal.anhembi.br/datPUBhttps://datjournal.anhembi.br/dat/oai||ppgdesign@anhembi.br2526-17892526-1789opendoar:2020-06-09T14:09:22DATJournal - Universidade Anhembi Morumbi (ANHEMBI)false
