Digital illustration course for projects with augmented reality technology

Resumo: | Augmented Reality in the last decade has inserted numerous sectors of society. The application in the educational field is still under development; although it already represents 10% among the applications, the level of diffusion in alternatives is still insipient. Thus, this article presents the proposal for a course in distance education to train designers who intend to work in digital illustrations, focused on new technology projects involving simulations and immersive experiences in Augmented Reality. The course is based on the Project-Based Learning method, developing the student’s ability to absorb content in an autonomous and participatory way. The pilot application of the course is presented to check the compliance of the content and the stipulated workload and test the methodology with the proposed practical activities. During the course, synchronous online meetings were held to present the design problems, discuss the hypotheses, and provide guidance for developing solutions. At the end of the course, participants developed animated illustrations for virtual interaction in an authentic setting and appropriate to the activities defined in the project. |

La aplicación en el ámbito educativo aún está en desarrollo, aunque ya representa el 10% de las aplicaciones, el nivel de difusión en alternativas aún es incipiente. Así, este artículo presenta la propuesta de un curso en modalidad de educación a distancia para la formación de diseñadores que pretendan trabajar en el campo de la ilustración digital, enfocado en proyectos de nuevas tecnologías que involucren simulaciones y experiencias inmersivas en realidad aumentada. El curso se basa en el método de Aprendizaje Basado en Proyectos, desarrollando la capacidad del alumno para absorber los contenidos de forma autónoma y participativa. Se presenta una aplicación piloto del curso para verificar el cumplimiento de los contenidos y la carga de trabajo estipulada y probar la metodología con las actividades prácticas propuestas. Durante el curso se realizaron encuentros en línea sincrónicos para la presentación de problemas de diseño, discusión de hipótesis y orientación para el desarrollo de soluciones. Al final del curso, los participantes desarrollaron ilustraciones animadas para interacción virtual en un escenario real y adaptadas a las actividades definidas en el proyecto.A Realidade Aumentada na última década tem sem inserido inúmeros setores da sociedade. A aplicação no campo educacional ainda se mostra em desenvolvimento, embora já represente 10% dentre as aplicações, o nível de difusão em alternativas ainda é insipiente. Assim, este artigo apresenta a proposta de um curso em modalidade EaD para a capacitação de designers que pretendam atuar no campo das ilustrações digitais, voltadas a projetos de novas tecnologias que envolvam simulações e experiências imersivas em realidade aumentada. O curso se fundamenta no método da Aprendizagem Baseada em Projetos, desenvolvendo no aluno a capacidade de absorção de conteúdos de maneira autônoma e participativa. É apresentado aplicação piloto do curso para verificar a conformidade do conteúdo e da carga horária estipulada e testar a metodologia com as atividades práticas propostas. Durante o curso foram realizados encontros síncronos online para apresentação dos problemas de projeto, discussão das hipóteses e orientação para o desenvolvimento das soluções.
