The shortcoming in public transport services, allied with the lost time in traffic jams and the search for sustainability drives the search for alternative means of transportation. Therefore, the purpose of this article was to identify the main attributes to be implemented for the best usability of non-motorized transport rental apps — like bicycles and scooters — to, beside ensuring their effectiveness and efficiency, assist in the safety of those who use them. The methodology used was the literature review in the databases available on Portal de Periódicos Capes, as well as in the Scielo and Google Scholar databases. After conducting the research, it was possible to notice the scarcity of studies related to the topic, demonstrating that this is an area of urban mobility to be better explored.
