Resumo: This research was order to study the urban displacements in Amazonas countryside, as well understand the similarities and differences of urban displacement and identify the influence of topography for the use of modal. For this three cities were chosen: Coari, Itacoatiara and Parintins. As hypothesis left is the idea that in cities with more rugged topography (Coari) the use of non-motorized modes must be smaller than in cities with a flatter topography (Itacoatiara e Parintins). To obtain the results were performed two weeks duration with field work in each city. During the field were recorded five modes: car; motorcycle; bike taxi; mode walking and bicycle. The data demonstrate a greater use of motorcycles in all the surveyed cities. The car has a higher percentage of their use in the city in Itacoatiara and Parintins. The pedestrian mode showed no significant variation between cities. In the case of the bicycle was found less use in Coari. So what can be concluded is that the initial hypothesis of the project was confirmed in part, in addition to the topography, the economic factor and the domestic and foreign policy have changed the strategies of the population as regards the choice of modal for urban displacement.
