Resumo: This study notes teaching strategies applied in the educational attainment of the Youth and Adult Education - EJA. Its objective is the reflection on work proposals to assist the teaching of art and design that meet the specifics of this type of education for young people and adults who did not have access and / or have not completed primary education (1st to 9th grade) in own age. Were used as instruments for the study: literature review, curriculum analysis, documents of the Department of Municipal de São Paulo Education, authors working with the teaching of art and design and the case study with application proposals in two rooms 6th year, the first half of 2015 with distinct strategies: in one the fundamentals of Design and other official material from the school curriculum as directed by SMESP. With this study at the end of a semester, it was possible to reflect on the proposals and the perception of building knowledge beyond formal education. Using art and design as a pedagogical proposal is to think of a structure that works the interaction of content and enables experiences.

Seu objetivo é a reflexão sobre propostas de trabalho que auxiliem o ensino da Arte e do Design que atendam as especificidades desta modalidade de educação destinada a jovens e adultos que não tiveram acesso e/ou não concluíram o Ensino Fundamental (1º ao 9º ano) em idade adequada. Foram utilizados como procedimentos metodológicos para o estudo: revisão bibliográfica, análise curricular, documentos da Secretaria de Municipal de Educação de São Paulo, autores que trabalham com o ensino da arte e do design e o estudo de caso com aplicação de propostas em duas salas de 6ºano, no primeiro semestre de 2015, com estratégias distintas: em uma os fundamentos do Design e na outra o material oficial do currículo de ensino conforme orientação da SMESP. Ao final de um semestre, por meio da aplicação do estudo foi possível refletir sobre as propostas e a percepção da construção de conhecimento para além da educação formal.
