The Argentine neoromantic poetry of the ‘40: an overview to think about its relationships with the Brazilian generation of the ‘45

Resumo: At the beginning of the 1940s, a neo-romantic generation emerged in Argentine poetry. The phenomenon represents a neoclassical return comparable to the Brazilian generation of ‘45. Based on this consideration, the objective of this study is to offer a synthesis that allows a comparison between both movements. For this, categories of the sociology of literature, the theory of polysystems and the historiographic model of multiple temporalities are selected. This synthesis contemplates the following aspects: the political historical context, its main members, the profile of the group, the training instances, its relationship with tradition, its poetics, its writing repertoires, the main instances of circulation and reception. The conclusions will evaluate the survival of neo-romantic poetics in the Argentine lyric system.
