Resumo: The article aims to investigates Aline Mottas’s artistic and political fabulation in A Água é uma máquina do tempo. Appropriating archival materials, her language approaches “poetry by other means” (PERLOFF, 2013). On the other hand, her research on her own lineage, which intertwines with the history of black lives in Brazil, points to other horizons of invention. In dialogue with reflections by Leda Martins on spiraling time, by Saidyia Hartman on critical fabulations, and by Marylin Strathern on contemporary kinship studies, we observe how the artist performs a phantasm related to her matrilineal genealogy.

Apropiándose de materiales de archivo, su lenguaje se acerca a la “poesía por otros medios” (PERLOFF, 2013). Por otro lado, su investigación sobre su propio linaje, que se entrelaza con la historia de la vida de los negros en Brasil, apunta a otros horizontes de invención. En diálogo con reflexiones de Leda Martins sobre el tiempo en espiral, de Saidiya Hartman sobre la fabulación crítica y de Marylin Strathern sobre los estudios de parentesco contemporáneos, observamos cómo la artista realiza una fantasmalidad performativa relacionada con su genealogía matrilineal.O artigo investiga a fabulação artística e política de Aline Motta em A água é uma máquina do tempo (2022a). Apropriando-se de materiais de arquivo, sua linguagem se aproxima da “poesia por outros meios” (PERLOFF, 2013). Por outro lado, sua pesquisa sobre a própria linhagem, que se entrelaça com a história das vidas negras no Brasil, aponta para outros horizontes de invenção.
