Social acting and (inter)cultural dimension: challenges to the proposal of the production of didactic sequences

Resumo: Foreign/Additional Language Teaching in a genre-based approach may contribute for the student to be able to carry out oral and written language actions as well as acquire (inter)cultural knowledges. So, in this article, we aim at investigating whether a didactic material, composed of sixteen didactic sequences produced for the Center of Modern Foreign Languages in the state of Paraná, can potentially promote the development of (inter)cultural knowledges as well as language capacities. In order to achieve such objective, initially, we examined the syllabus based on the analytical categories of the (inter)cultural dimension. Secondly, based on the same analytical categories and on language capacities, we analysed whether the activities of a didactic sequence may foster the development of such (inter)cultural knowledges. The results indicate that the elements of the syllabus, as well as the DS activities analysed approach the (inter)cultural categories and knowledges, making it possible for the teachers and the students to accomplish a teaching and learning process organized by social acting. Thus, acting socially with language may contribute to the development of (inter)cultural dimension as well as language capacities.

Assim, investigamos se o material didático produzido para o Centro de Línguas Estrangeiras Modernas do Estado do Paraná, composto por dezesseis sequências didáticas (SD), pode promover um ensino e aprendizagem capaz de potencializar tanto o desenvolvimento de conhecimentos (inter)culturais quanto das capacidades de linguagem (CL). Com vistas a atingir esse objetivo, examinamos, inicialmente, os quadros-sumário das dezesseis SD com base em categorias analíticas da dimensão (inter)cultural. Em seguida, analisamos se as atividades de uma dessas SD potencializam o desenvolvimento de conhecimentos constitutivos das categorias analíticas e de CL. Os resultados indicam que os elementos dos quadros-sumário, bem como as atividades da SD contemplam as categorias (inter)culturais e seus conhecimentos, oportunizando ao/a professor/a e aos/as estudantes um ensino e aprendizagem que tem o agir social como eixo organizador.
