Resumo: | The literature of Conceição Evaristo describes the condition of black Brazilians, especially black Brazilian women, seeking to realistically portray their status in society. Her description follows the real context of violence against women and racial and social exclusion, showing that even within a group challenged by skin color, black women tend to be oppressed. The characters in her texts are described to us as laden with complaints about isolation, violence, submission, life in the slums, social exclusion, etc. From this perspective, we intend to analyze the short story “Ana Davenga” (2015), aiming to analyze how the theme of violence is structured. The text under consideration is a narrative which, although fictional, is similar to the life of many women in our society; although it is a literary text, it symbolizes real stories that, for the most part, remain unknown. |
