Resumo: The concept of recognition is central to set communicative interaction concerning social and political issues, and also to inform social policy. The aim of this paper is to clarify some boundaries of the concept concerning three major aspects: (1) its epistemic dimension fails to recognize other reasoning than Western’s (2) its morals reasoning and the need to take into account the grounds of political emotional experience and (3) it lacks the relevance of personal biography, experience and testimonial to wide recognition’s reference frame.

Este artículo propone una reflexión sobre el concepto, tratando de resaltar algunos de sus límites en tres aspectos principales: (1) su dimensión epistémica se basa principalmente en una noción occidental de racionalidad; (2) sus fundamentos morales se centran en un aspecto racional, al que se podría agregar la experiencia emocional de la política y (3) hay una tensión latente sobre la relevancia de la biografía, la experiencia y el testimonio para ampliar el marco de referencia del reconocimiento.O conceito de reconhecimento é central para a compreensão das interações comunicacionais sobre questões sociais e políticas.
