Resumo: | The objective is to characterize and discuss the importance of Structural film in the interface between the fields of experimental cinema and visual arts, avoiding the interpretations from the critic and historiography of said fields, which held it as a modernist practice concerning reflexive exploration of the specific attributes of cinema or as a seamless continuity of the “visionary” romantic tradition of North American avant-garde cinema. In this sense there’s an investigation of the 60’s minimalist sculpture, a trend from which this cinema, according to the hypothesis, appropriated and reinvented parameters, notably those which enabled a reordination of spectatorial engagement. |

En este sentido, se acude a las discusiones en torno a la escultura minimalista de la década del 60, tendencia de la que este cine, según la hipótesis, apropió y reinventó parámetros, notoriamente aquellos que permitieron un reordenamiento del contrato con el espectador.Objetiva-se caracterizar e discutir a importância do Cinema Estrutural na interface dos campos do cinema experimental e das artes visuais afastando-se das interpretações da crítica e historiografia desses campos que o tomaram ora como uma prática modernista concernida à exploração reflexiva das propriedades específicas do cinema ora em estreita continuidade com a tradição “visionária”, romântica, do cinema de vanguarda norte-americano.
