The Plan Director, in this study, focuses on a study of the relationship between urban policy, planning and sustainable tourism in Florianopolis. These relations will be covered by the forms of occupation in the city, related to urban growth and the increase of tourism spot. This study is justified by the need to examine the Plan Director as a tool of the Statute of the City and see actions that prioritize tourism, realizing what items should be improved. Therefore, the objective of this article is to analyze the Director Plan as a strategy for spatial organization and planning tour of Florianopolis. Therefore, the methodology will be an exploratory research, in order to describe the characteristics of the city and hold a bibliographic survey on the proposed topic. As a result of this search, it was observed that in the Plan Director there are few rules that limit the use and illegal occupation of land on the island of Santa Catarina and concluded that lacks legal instruments more efficient and investing in shares of supervision by the competent bodies.
