Resumo: | The significant increase in the elderly population in the world has fostered the interest of some fields of knowledge. Regarding the field of tourism is notorious discussion about aging, once the elderly represent potential travellers and the variety of opportunities seems almost limitless these days. Based on these findings, this article proposes to discuss the aspects that relate aging to tourism. Seeking to improve the quality of life of elderly patients, following the trip peculiarities and improving the time of travel for the elderly. This is a qualitative research that apply a semi-structured questioner to seven elderly people who travel regularly, there were extensive content analysis with the data collected. The results in this survey pointed that in the 21st century industry has begun reshaping itself to accommodate older travelers with special services and in order to make their stay more comfortable, that Indicated important developments on the relevant role of these trips for the sociability of such individuals. |

En cuanto al sector del turismo es notoria la discusión sobre el envejecimiento, ya que las personas mayores se configuran como los potenciales viajeros. Teniendo en cuenta estos hallazgos, este artículo se propone discutir los aspectos que se relacionan con el envejecimiento para el turismo, desde el punto de vista de la mejora de la calidad de vida de las personas de edad avanzada, con las peculiaridades del viaje, así como la exploración de los tiempos del viaje para ellos, resultados de una investigación más amplia. Se trata de un estudio de investigación cualitativa, mediante la aplicación de entrevistas conducidas a siete personas que viajan con regularidad y con análisis del contenido con los datos recogidos. Los resultados apuntan hacia el papel que los viajes se encuentran en la vida cotidiana de estas personas mayores, así como indican los acontecimientos importantes sobre el papel de estos viajes para la sociabilidad de ellos.O significativo aumento da população idosa no mundo vem suscitando o interesse de diversos campos do conhecimento. No que tange ao campo do Turismo é notória a discussão a respeito do envelhecimento, uma vez que os idosos se configuram como potenciais viajantes. Em face destas constatações, neste artigo propõe-se a discussão das vertentes que relacionam o envelhecimento ao turismo, do ponto de vista da melhoria da qualidade de vida do idoso, apresentando as peculiaridades da viagem para este público, explorando os tempos da viagem para o idoso, a partir dos resultados oriundos de uma investigação mais ampla. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de caráter qualitativo, com a aplicação de um roteiro semiestruturado para sete idosos que viajam com regularidade, realizou-se análise de conteúdo com os dados recolhidos.
