Resumo: This article analyzes the implementation of Brazilian Federal Law 10.639/2003 in Poconé city’s basic education. For this, we carried out the analysis of the narrative History, Art and Portuguese Lanuage teachers and also documentary sources, such as school guidelines and documents. Oral interviews were basedon thematic oral history procedures in order to build a dialogue with documentary sources. We used the qualitative approach and the theoretical perspective of decolonial studies. The research allowed reflection on how African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture, as well as the teaching of race and ethnic relations have taken place at the research locus school. Certainly, the road to effective implementation of the law is still long, but many important transformationshave already taken place.

Para isso, realizamos a análise da narrativa de professores de História, Arte e Língua Portuguesa e fontes documentais, tais como diretrizes e documentos escolares. As entrevistas orais foram baseadas nos procedimentos da história oral temática para construir um diálogo com as fontes documentais. Utilizamos a abordagem qualitativa somada à perspectiva teórica dos estudos decoloniais. O estudo permitiu a reflexão de como a história e a cultura africana e afro-brasileira, bem como o ensino das relações étnico-raciais têm ocorrido naescola lócus de pesquisa.
